The following guidelines are provided here to make your Talent Exchange experience a more dynamic and rewarding one. These are not a set of “rules”; they are just some useful tips to get you going on the right foot. For further information, see the CTTE Terms & Conditions of Use.
- Users are responsible for their own accounts. This means that you are responsible for updating your contact details (especially your email address), entering your own trades, entering and updating your offerings and wants, etc. Don’t request or expect the Administrator to do these things for you
- If you have forgotten your account number and/or password, go here to find your account and reset your password
- All users should have at least one valid (i.e. not expired) offering. Offerings expire after a certain period, so make sure your offerings are regularly updated
- Make sure that your offerings provide sufficient information for potential recipients (buyers) to be interested. Brief descriptions without pictures are off-putting and result in a disappointing Talent Exchange experience
- If you hide your location completely, your offerings will likely be ignored because other users will not know if you are nearby or far away
- Mixed offerings may contain a Rand component but the Rand component may not be greater than the Talent component
- As a provider, you are entitled to add a Rand component to your advertised Talent-only offerings if the user requesting your offering has a Rand component in their offerings
- Trades must be recorded and settled within three months. “Settled” means all disputes and disagreements must be resolved
- You are entitled to request deletion of a transaction entry if your account is debited three months after the transaction took place
- You are entitled to reject requests for your offerings if the other party has no offerings, even if they are the first in line
- Always respond to queries about your offerings; don’t just ignore them
- If you have advertised for Talents, don’t ask for Rands when someone requests your offering
- Remove your offering(s) immediately after they are no longer available
- Your debit limit is not a “gift” of money to get you going; it is a limit beyond which you should not venture. Other users are warned not to trade with you if you exceed your limit. It is time to give back…
- Refuse to sell to users who are over their debit limits
- Try to keep your balance hovering around zero. This means you are giving as much as you are receiving
- It is up to you to monitor your balance of account. You can sign in and view your current trading position and statement of account. Monthly statements are emailed to all users so there is no reason to be unaware of your standing and erroneously entered trading records
- If your account is erroneously debited, contact the other party immediately and directly. It is not the Administrator’s duty to mediate in disputes. The normal commercial laws of the land between trading parties apply
